Cycling For A Cause

We’re excited to participate in this year’s Bike MS Waves to Wine event. This annual cycling event was created to bring awareness to and help raise money towards funding research for treatment and the relentless pursuit of a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. This ride brings the community together to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Bike MS: Waves to Wine has a goal of $1.8 million this year to fund research, programs, and services for those living with MS. Our main goal is to raise as much money as we can to donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Your donation is made directly to the organization and is tax deductible.

It Takes A Community

Team Motivated Strong was founded through friendship and support between two friends/colleagues, Rachel and Will. In the summer of 2017, Rachel struggled dealing with the various symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis due to the unwavering heat sweeping through the Sacramento Valley. As a concerned friend, Will set out to educate himself and try to better understand how MS affects people. While doing research, he stumbled upon a promotion for Bike MS and decided to sign up for the event as a gesture of support and inspiration.

With very limited experience in long distance endurance cycling, Will set an ambitious goal of completing the full 100-mile ride from San Francisco to Rohnert Park, as well as a fundraising goal of $1000. With only eight weeks before the big event, Rachel and Will teamed up together to support and motivate each other. They dubbed themselves, Team Motivated Strong. Together they raised $2,200, and despite sustaining a major injury in a cycling accident in the weeks leading up to the event, Will completed the full 100-mile ride.

Rachel and Will have continued to participate in fundraising and awareness events, such as Walk MS, for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Motivated Strong has grown into a team made up of family, friends and colleagues coming together to support the MS community.
